Birthday Bash!

Posted by Andrea

Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity. (Psalm 133:1)

Sweet Pea’s birthday is still a few days away, but we celebrated today. She and several friends got together for a birthday bash at a local pretzel factory. While the pretzels baked, the children decorated bags to carry their pretzels home in, sang Happy Birthday to Sweet Pea, and enjoyed cupcakes and pretzels.

I created a cupcake tower in blue and made a  Barbie cake to match. Sweet Pea loved the Barbie cake and she and her friends gobbled up the cupcakes very quickly.

Our beautiful birthday girl takes a break from all the festivities to enjoy her snack: delicious soft pretzel nuggets and a cold drink box.

A couple of friends have fun working to shape their pretzel dough into works of art!

It’s clear Sugar Plum enjoyed her cupcake as well. If you look carefully you can spot lots of blue icing in her nostrils!

It so hard but fun and exciting to watch them grow. You miss the year and the baby you just had. But it seems to keep getting better as they get older they just get so much more fun. ANd that birthday party, what a great idea! Looks like loads of fun.

Karen, you’re so right! I often miss the sweet little baby that she was, but I’m fully embracing the big girl that she has become. As each new year comes and she gets older, there are so many more wonderful things she does that I so enjoy!

The party was a lot of fun and I’m glad I was able to make my Sweet Pea so happy. Thank you for visiting and have a great week!

How AWESOME is that cupcake tower???!!!! I’d be just as excited to get something cool like that! (Yeah, I think my “inside” age got stuck at about 11 HA!) It looks like she had a great birthday!

You’re stuck at 11 and I think I’m stuck at age 5 sometimes…LOL! Keeping in touch with the kid inside is what keeps us young and beautiful though, right?

The cupcake tower was sooooo easy to make. I added some blue coloring gel to the icing and piped it onto the cupcakes using Pampered Chef’s Easy Accent Decorator. The cupcake stand was a gift but can be found for about $15-$20 at WalMart and AC Moore.

Sweet Pea had a wonderful birthday and I was happy to help make her day special!
