Dessert is one of life’s most simple pleasures. Wouldn’t you agree?
At our house, dinner is not complete unless you’ve had dessert. The kids love cupcakes or brownies, while my husband prefers pie. My favorite dessert is ice cream, but because I don’t want to sabotage the efforts I make in the gym and at home on the treadmill, I don’t have it as often as I’d like.
I’m a true chocoholic and am therefore unwilling to abandon the chocolate desserts I love so much. Instead, I opt to create healthier, guilt-free, chocolate desserts to give me the chocolate fix I crave.
This recipe for Chocolate Frozen Yogurt recipe is one of my favorite desserts. It’s thick and creamy but lacks the fat and calories found in traditional chocolate ice creams. Chocolate Frozen Yogurt holds up well in sundaes and is firm enough to sit on top of an ice cream cone. The tang of the yogurt provides a yummy twist, the chocolate chips offer a wonderfully chunky texture, and the cocoa powder ensures I get plenty of chocolate in every spoonful.
You will need an ice cream maker to prepare this recipe. My ice cream maker is a Cuisinart, but you can use whatever ice cream maker you have or are able to borrow.
