Fueling Up

I love those who love me; and those who diligently seek me will find me. (Proverbs 8:17)

During the daytime, our television is rarely on. The girls occupy themselves with books, crafts, games, puzzles, and toys as I complete various tasks around the house. Each day, as they happily romp around and I work on a variety of tasks, I play Christian music, listen to a sermon, or take in a Christian broadcast.

I started doing this last year and have found it’s much easier for me to fold laundry, wash dishes, and prepare meals if my heart is encouraged by music and information that is Christ centered. Likewise the girls seem to play much more kindly with one another and maintain a happy mood longer when they’re listening to Bible stories or Christian songs.

Since radio reception in our house is poor, I often turn to the internet to find good things for us to listen to. Listening online has proven to be wonderful because we can listen to Christian information from all over the country. One of the best sources for Christian listening is at One Place.

One Place offers an extensive list of ministries for listeners to select among. Once you find a ministry you’re interested in, you can listen to current and archived broadcasts whenever you like. All broadcasts are free. You can even narrow your search to find ministry broadcasts geared toward women, men, married couples, families, or just for children.

Throughout the week, I usually listen to Enduring Truth, Family Life Today, Homemakers by Choice, Homeword with Jim Burns, Generations Radio, Living Proof with Beth Moore, while the girls prefer to hear entertaining stories and songs Karen and Kids or Paws and Tales. My most recent audio search at One Place led me to rediscover Unshackled, a radio drama I remember listening to as a child on our local Christian radio station!

No matter what you’re looking for, I’m nearly certain One Place has a Christian ministry to address your interest and needs. Don’t fill your ears with the secular noise found on today’s television and radio. Instead opt to fuel up throughout the day with the far more edifying ministry broadcasts found at One Place. I believe you’ll be blessed!

All Tangled Up

I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. (John 10:11)

One of my new favorite internet hang outs is over at Tangle (formerly GodTube). The premise behind Tangle is simple. It was created as a “faith-based, family friendly network where people of all ages and backgrounds could come together in connection, bonded by a shared faith and love for Christ.” When you have a moment to spare, I encourage you to take a peek at Tangle. I’m certain you’ll find something that will interest and bless you!

One of my favorite videos is ranked as one of Tangle’s most popular videos. After JT and I watched the video for the first time, we agreed it was one of the most powerful videos we had ever seen.

The video, titled Everything and performed by Lifehouse Productions, shows us that sin can easily overtake us, but the video also reminds us that no matter how many battles we face and no matter how deeply we’re tangled up in our sins, we can overcome them ALL because of Jesus’ death on the cross. Jesus’ death gives us victory over every single one of our sins if we accept him as our personal Savior! He is waiting to rescue us from our sins if we choose to embrace Him!

Husband Rocks Tee

Behold, you are handsome, my beloved! Yes, pleasant! (Song of Solomon 1:16a)

Hey girls, check me out! What do you think of my new t-shirt? If you’ve got a great husband and you want the world to know it, you may want to get yourself one of these!

I recently discovered From Me Tees, a website that offers unique t-shirts for husbands and wives that display a positive image of marriage. Now isn’t that refreshing?!

According to the website, the mission of From Me Tees is “to enhance marriage relationships, communicate a positive image of marriage, and encourage/support the sanctity of the marriage covenant between a man and woman in a fun and stylish way.” I think that’s absolutely fantastic so I just had to order one (okay, okay, I ordered two!).

T-shirts for women say My Husband Rocks, a more simply stated MHR, and my favorite, He loves me, He loves me a lot…My husband rocks! From Me Tees also offers My Wife Rocks shirts for husbands as well as Mommy/Daddy Rocks t-shirts for kids.

Does your husband need a bit of encouragement? Do you want to show your love for him in a unique way? Consider sporting one of these darling t-shirts and show the world that marriage and your husband rock!
