100 Posts!

Posted by Andrea

Today is a special day for me. This is my 100th post and I can’t believe it! Back in February when I started The Grass is Green, I couldn’t imagine 100 posts. It seemed like such a large number and I didn’t know if I could find that much to write about. Now that I’m a “seasoned” blogger (a hundred posts makes me seasoned right?), I frequently find I’ve got a lot to say, but not enough time to write it all down.

Over the past ten months, I’ve learned some interesting things about myself and others while working on this blog.

  1. I’ve got a bad case of “blogger’s brain”. No matter where I am and no matter what I’m doing, I’m always thinking about whether the topic, activity, or location is blogworthy. I’ve even awakened at 3 something in the morning with blog ideas!
  2. Folks like to lurk at this blog. Not everyone who visits comments or emails, but the stats show I’ve got readers which means I’m not talking to myself. (Thank goodness for that because I have children so I do quite a bit of that already!)
  3. Recipes rule. Many folks who stumble upon this blog do so because of a recipe search. Taste Tested Tuesday is a big hit! I love to eat and cook and apparently plenty of others do too!
  4. Most of my readers aren’t family. When I started this blog, I intended for it to be a way for family members to check in with us. I now know that most of the folks who read have never met me before!
  5. You can make some great friends in the blogosphere. My blogging addiction has led me to other blogs and forums where I’ve met wonderful people blogging about their lives as well. It’s a fascinating voyage!
  6. God’s presence can be felt even in the blogosphere. When I started blogging, I wasn’t sure how many folks were blogging about the goodness of God and their Christian faith. It didn’t take me long to realize that I am one of thousands working to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ online!

I want thank the Academy people who subscribe to The Grass is Green, the faithful friends and family who read regularly, the lurkers who read silently, those who pop in for an occasional visit, and those who show me love by linking to this blog. You guys are great and I love you!
