Family Time!

We recently attended a parenting seminar series sponsored by The National Center for Biblical Parenting. While there we purchased two great books: Bubbles, Balloons, and Chocolate: Family Time Activities for Preschoolers and Wiggles, Giggles, and Popcorn: Family Time Activities for Preschoolers. Both books offer spiritual family time activities for young children.

We began using the books right away and we love them. Each Sunday afternoon, we gather in the basement and have Family Time. We begin by bringing out the girls’ collection of musical instruments and allowing everyone to choose an instrument to play. We sing a song, pray, go through the lesson, discuss the lesson, learn the memory statement, and close with prayer.

Daddy leads Family Time. This week he taught a lesson about Lazarus’ miracle return from the grave (I John 11:1-44). Sugar Plum looks on as Daddy wraps Sweet Pea in toilet paper to show how Lazarus was wrapped in the grave. We had a wonderful time and the girls especially enjoyed it. All of us are looking forward to next week’s lesson.
